We spent a day off alone together at Sturgeon Falls, Michigan. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then.
We first met in Israel on Seminar Plus, but we didn’t keep in touch after the summer. Matt continued on as a counselor at Wisconsin, and Aviva returned to Palmer.
Although we are both from Beth El in Highland Park, we didn’t get to know each other until we were both on staff in the Northwoods.

Joel was Rosh T’filah at camp when Barbara was a camper, and then a Jr. Counselor. We married when Joel was at the Seminary as a student in 1965.
