Joel was Rosh T’filah at camp when Barbara was a camper, and then a Jr. Counselor. We married when Joel was at the Seminary as a student in 1965. We returned to Ramah Seminar as staff in 1970, and then to Poconos and Berkshires for 20+ years, while Joel was Professor in Residence, so our three children could grow up in the Ramah environment. Since retiring, Joel continues to sit on the National Ramah Commission. Ramah was the most important Jewish experience in our lives.
