Are you passionate about Jewish programming?  Join Temple Sholom and provide support to the Executive Director and Director of Engagement in turning Temple Sholom’s vibrant programming initiatives into a reality, fostering community engagement, and participation.

The Programming Coordinator position is an opportunity for a highly-motivated professional with project management skills to work as part of a dynamic organization.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong project planning and time management skills, creativity, attention to detail, as well as the adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the community. The Programming Coordinator will assist with event coordination from start to finish including hands-on implementation of programs before, during, and after. This process will involve: brainstorming ideas and best practices, determining program goals and needs, creating strategic plans, outlines and set-up diagrams, managing registrations, coordinating logistics, calendar, catering and AV, managing program records and supplies, preparing and tracking expenses and invoices, analyzing feedback following events and providing written findings to strengthen and expand future programming.

Programs will include synagogue-wide social and holiday-oriented programming, as well as demographic-oriented programming (i.e. older adults, empty nesters, young professionals, youth/family programs, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills to support all aspects of programming design and implementation
  • Efficient computer and database skills
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to handle multiple assignments and projects concurrently under pressure
  • Provides top-tier customer service with ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of our internal and external clients in a professional manner
  • Quick thinker to resolve unanticipated situations

Professional Requirements

  •  1-2 years of work experience in program coordination preferred
  • Minimum of a BA/BS required in a relevant field
  • This is a full-time, in-person and year-round position (at-will employment and non-exempt)
  • Attend scheduled programs, including those outside of traditional work hours on evenings and weekends
