We met and became friends during daily camp activities during my first summer at Ramah and his second summer at Ramah. I was 13 years old and he was 14 years old. That summer, 1970, was a life changing experience for me in terms of my Jewish identity and he played a large role in that. We stayed in touch through letter writing, phone calls and occasional visits. We lost touch with each other in 1980. The rest of this 43-year -long story involves each of us getting married (not to each other) and divorced and then finally reconnecting with each other on Facebook in 2008. The rest is history. We both have fond memories of Ramah and we both still have and use our shiron!
