Tzippy (Fran) Rapoport Oppenheimer
Tzippy (Fran) Rapoport Oppenheimer is a Wisconsin and Berkshires Ramahnik who made aliyah in 1982.
I spent my junior year in college at Hebrew U and that was when I decided to return to live in Israel. It was a “simple” enough decision as a 21 year old, to act on that love and belief that Israel is the home of Am Yisrael, by making aliyah directly after my college studies. I wanted to link my future with our homeland. My Ramah experience basically molded me to who I am today; it was at Ramah that I began to keep mitzvot, to understand the tefillot, and to love and feel a part of Am Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael. It certainly influenced me a great deal in my love for Israel and my decision.
Since making aliyah, I married a French veteran Oleh, had five children and four beautiful grandchildren. I’ve lived in a yishuv kehilati in the Galil for twenty years. I worked for many years in an educational non-profit organization promoting tolerance in a multicultural society. I have been fortunate to work for the past four years with the Go North program of Nefesh B’Nefesh, assisting others in fulfilling their dream of Aliyah.
