On Friday, November 7, Ramahniks around the world gathered to welcome in Shabbat by hosting or attending dinners for “Shabbat Across Ramah”. In Seattle, Los Angeles, Nashville, Chicago, Boston, New York City, Gainesville, Jerusalem, the Tikvah Family Shabbaton at Camp Ramah in New England, and across college campuses nationwide, we estimate that nearly 1000 Ramahniks attended Shabbat Across Ramah! In the words of Judah Schvimer, an alumnus of Ramah Wisconsin: “We held a Shabbat across Ramah dinner at Brown University at an off campus house. We had 8 students and 1 parent who was also an alum. We had people from Nyack, California, Wisconsin, Palmer, and Berkshires. After dinner we even had an Oneg where we sang Shabbat songs for an hour and a half.”
