Melinda “Malka” Kieffer Mishkin is a New England Ramahnik who made aliyah in 2013. About her decision to make aliyah, she writes,

My husband, Rabbi Sam Kieffer, and I have wanted to make Aliyah for 40 years – but life got in the way! Finally two years ago we put our plan into place! Also all of our 3 children and 8 grandchildren live here – we all live within a 10 minute walk of each other – what a blessing! We bonded every summer with the Israeli mishlachat and told them to speak only Hebrew to us and our kids! We loved learning modern Israeli songs and dance every summer – 22 summers!   We learned about Israeli culture, societal pressures and daily life from them.
