About the internship

HFBA is seeking an enthusiastic and creative summer intern to join our team and support our social media and communications efforts. This is a paid internship that offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector while making a meaningful contribution to our mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute engaging social media content calendars for various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)
• Create compelling social media graphics and videos to promote HFBA’s services and mission
• Assist with drafting and scheduling social media posts
• Monitor social media channels and respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner
• Research and identify trending topics and hashtags relevant to HFBA’s audience
• Support with creating and distributing press releases and other communication materials
• Assist with any other social media and communication tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Strong interest in social media and digital marketing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
• Familiarity with graphic design and video editing software a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to HFBA’s mission and serving the community

Work location

• This internship can be done in person at our New York City office or in a hybrid model.
  Compensation

The Social Media and Communications Intern will receive $600 a week working a 3 day a week schedule.
