The Position

Reporting to the Executive Director and working in close partnership with shul volunteer committees, the Program and Engagement Manager will be responsible for furthering our community’s primary goal of involving and engaging our congregants by offering opportunities for meaningful and deep Jewish connections.  In conjunction with our Rabbinic leadership and Executive Director, the Program and Engagement Manager is responsible for creating a welcoming and supportive environment at CBS and will be directly responsible for developing programs, driving marketing and engagement strategies, and building meaningful engagement with congregants.

The ideal candidate is someone who is deeply committed to Jewish life, has strong interpersonal skills, and is willing to work with a small, like-minded and dedicated staff where everyone contributes in a flexible, organized, team-oriented way.  Most importantly, our Program and Engagement manager must enjoy working with people at all stages and phases of life!

Primary Responsibilities

Programming

In conjunction with the Executive Director, develop and implement a robust and innovative program calendar
Staff program-related committees (Hazak – Seniors, Adult Education, Children’s Programming, Ruach [in-reach programs to current members], etc.)
Provide logistic/administrative support for all programs and classes
Gather evaluative feedback and make adjustments where necessary
Lead youth and teen programming in collaboration with the Children’s Programming Committee and the Youth Committee

Marketing and Engagement

Oversee all marketing and communications (including weekly newsletter, program and event fliers, website, social media, and specialty projects)
Work with outside graphic designer, as needed
Build and develop a digital media strategy in relation to engagement
Proactively identify and engage with prospective members
Work with Executive Director and clergy to engage new members and current members to ensure a positive community experience

A successful candidate will:

Act as project manager and a team player who collaborates well with peers and actively engages volunteers and senior staff
Demonstrate ability to seek out opportunities and take an active, independent role in planning and execution
Demonstrate the ability to use technology and digital media in a smart and strategic way
Exhibit excellent communication skills through written, oral, and electronic means
Possess strong  organizational and multitasking skills
Maintain discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Be able to work a flexible schedule which includes some Sundays and evenings as well as two Shabbatot per month during the school year and one Shabbat per month during the summer.  Be required to work on some Jewish holidays.
Possess a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience (preferred)

Salary range is $60,000 to  $65,000 based on experience
