Craig Taubman’s Reflection
It feels like another lifetime since my years at Camp Ramah. Summers spent banging and sometimes even dancing on tabletops to the music. As a songwriter and performer, I strive to recapture those magically simple and awe-inspiring times at camp. When I would dare to go anywhere . . . and try anything, because frankly, I did not know any better.
Ramah was more than a camp experience. It was a life experience.
Ramah was a place where I felt free to explore and experiment.
Ramah was a place where I felt free to challenge old hierarchies.
Ramah was a place where I felt free to challenge my own limitations.
Ramah was a place of firsts.
First kiss.
First song.
First success.
First loss.
First home run.
First ga-ga game.
Ramah was my home.
So, just for a moment, I close my eyes . . .
and wander in wonder.
I close my eyes . . .
and open my heart to the mystery of Ramah.
Before the song is over.
