Religious School Teacher

Website Sutton Place Synagogue

Are you thoughtful, creative and engaging? Do you like exploring Torah, holidays, values, Israel and Hebrew with your learners? Do you like working with wonderful coworkers and hilarious kids?

The Jackson Religious School of Sutton Place Synagogue in Midtown East, Manhattan, is looking for religious school teachers for Wednesday afternoons (with possible Monday options available, too!) for the 2021-2022 school year for elementary and middle school learners. Due to the Jewish calendar, we will be starting in October. We are planning on being in-person and requiring masks, etc. We also have a community that is very excited for younger children to become eligible for the COVID vaccines.

Candidates should be comfortable in a Conservative, egalitarian setting, and should be prepared to teach a range of subjects with curricular guidance and support from the director. Having prior experience at camps or other schools is a plus! Not all positions require Hebrew reading and Tefillah skills, but many do.
